The Work We Do.

✔️ Our Approach

The Amy Approach supports early childhood educators to create calm, confident, and connected learning environments, for children and the educators  who care for them.

Our work is grounded in the understanding that emotional safety is the foundation for learning, behaviour, and wellbeing. We believe calm is not something children are expected to bring with them, but something that is built through secure relationships, responsive routines, and intentional environments.

✔️ Relationship-Led Practice

At the heart of The Amy Approach is a strong focus on connection. We view behaviour as communication and recognise that regulation develops through co-regulation before independence. By supporting educators to slow down, tune in, and respond with intention, we help create spaces where children feel safe, seen, and supported to grow.

We also recognise the importance of educator wellbeing. When educators feel supported and confident, they are better able to nurture the emotional worlds of the children in their care.

✔️ Informed by Theory, Grounded in Practice

The Amy Approach is informed by key early childhood and developmental theories, including attachment theory, neuroscience and brain development, co-regulation and self-regulation frameworks, and play-based, child-centred learning. These theories are translated into practical, everyday strategies that educators can confidently embed into their routines and interactions.

✔️ Aligned with ACECQA

Our approach aligns with the National Quality Framework (NQF) and the guiding principles of ACECQA, with a strong connection to Quality Areas 1, 5, 6, and 7. Through reflective practice and intentional teaching, we support services and educators to strengthen relationships, wellbeing, and leadership within their learning communities. Our workshops contribute to educators’ ongoing professional learning, supporting reflective practice and the development of skills in line with ACECQA’s National Quality Standard.

✔️Supporting All Educators

Through workshops, mentoring, and reflective tools, The Amy Approach offers thoughtful, achievable support for educators at every stage of their journey. Our goal is to help learning environments feel emotionally safe, deeply connected, and sustainably calm for children and the educators who guide them.

The Amy Approach is also committed to supporting emerging educators as they move through their studies and into professional practice. We provide guidance that helps bridge theory and practice, supporting coursework, reflective writing, and confidence-building within early learning environments. By investing in emerging educators, we contribute to a stronger, more supported early childhood community.
