Transitions Tell a Story 🚪

Many behaviour challenges appear during transitions.
Packing away.
Moving outside.
Lining up.
Rest time.
But transitions are not interruptions to learning.
They are part of it.
When transitions feel rushed, unclear, or unpredictable, anxiety rises.
And anxiety often shows up as resistance.
What would happen if we viewed transitions as emotional moments, not logistical ones?
What if we:
• Gave visual warnings
• Used consistent language
• Slowed our tone
• Allowed space for adjustment
Transitions are bridges. 🌉
And children cross them more confidently when the adults are steady.
Sometimes the “behaviour” isn’t the problem.
The bridge just needs strengthening.
